Director of Tennis
Job Summary: Plans and coordinates tennis operation services with the Club tennis membership. Participates as a member of management in planning, formulating policies and administrative decision making with particular reference to the role, functions and operations of the Club’s tennis operation services. In summary, is responsible for a well-conceived and well-developed tennis program, designed and presented for the enjoyment and satisfaction of our members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Being readily accessible to the membership for group and private lessons.
- Ensuring clear communications between departments pertaining to scheduled tennis events.
- Formulating and managing the annual budget to include employee wages, maintenance, tournament income/expenses, merchandise sales, lessons, guest fees and capital expenditures.
- Establishing a merchandizing purchase/sales plan to increase margins while maintaining an appropriate inventory level.
- Work closely with the Tennis Committee and various Sub-Committee members.
- Extending the current development of a comprehensive tennis program with the objective of promotion, increasing usage and expanding the membership base.
- Ensuring a wide range of teaching programs to accommodate all ability levels.
- Conducting weekly staff meetings with all tennis department employees on policies, procedures, schedules, goals and safety programs.
- Enforcing all club rules and regulations governing the use of the tennis facility.
- Aligning department goals with the Club’s goals.
- Educate and involve staff on ongoing CQI projects.
- Perform other job duties as assigned.
Skills:
- Must be a certified USPTA/PTR Professional with at least 10 years of tennis management experience.
- Must possess excellent human relations skills in dealing with the membership and co-workers.
- A strong background in mentoring and developing staff capability
- Experience in developing and staging intra-club and inter-club tennis events
- The ability to coordinate and manage all elements and associated responsibility for staging large amateur or professional tennis events

Kitchen Tech
Responsible for general preventive and repair maintenance on club owned equipment as described in work order system.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Regularly conducts scheduled and random facility on-site audits to monitor maintenance and repair of food service equipment in order to ensure proper operation, performing hands-on maintenance as time permits.
- Assesses condition of equipment and determines whether it needs to be repaired or replaced; request authorization for expenditures on parts and initiates appropriate action to have equipment replaced when justified.
- Properly installs or supervises the installation of food service equipment (such as large freezer units) ensuring that methods and materials comply with all applicable standards and guidelines.
- Provides technical advice about and/or sets up field kitchens in order to provide uninterrupted food service operations during emergencies, kitchen construction, etc
- Obtains maintenance manuals from vendors or manufacturers and distributes to applicable staff.
- Attends factory and other training to acquire and maintain the knowledge and skills necessary to perform job effectively and efficiently.
- Instructs facility food service personnel in the proper use and cleaning of food service equipment, stressing the cooperative relationship between their role and the efforts of maintenance staff.
- Recommends and oversees the transfer of equipment within a facility or to another facility in order to maximize resources.
- Serves as the primary vendor contact for warranty services and troubleshooting; draws on knowledge of assignment area to negotiate the most favorable prices for repairs and warranty services.
- All other task as assigned.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for long periods of time, lift heavy objects and work in uncomfortably hot and cold environments. Must be able to work in awkward and cramped positions.
Qualifications: A high school diploma or equivalency and/or three years of experience at a skilled level in general facilities maintenance (e.g. electrical, equipment maintenance, etc.).
Tennis Professional
Job Summary: Provide Club Members with quality professional instruction focusing on learning, safety, and enjoyment of tennis. The tennis professional will assist the Tennis Director in the coordination and implementation of programs, events, and tournaments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Tennis Professional will be required to become knowledgeable in the sanctioning and administration of USTA tournaments and will assist in the promotion of events.
- The Tennis Professional will be required to attend all major tennis functions, tournaments or parties. This position should be on hand to referee, schedule or lend their expertise for any tennis functions, unless otherwise excused by the Director of Tennis.
- In order to keep the lines of communication open, the Tennis Professional is required to meet with the Director of Tennis at least once a week not to include regular staff meetings.
- The Tennis Professional will be required to attend weekly staff meetings unless excused by the Director of Tennis. It is extremely important for the tennis staff to be fully informed of all tennis activities. In the absence of the Director of Tennis, Tennis Professional will be required to chair staff meetings.
- The Tennis Professional will always be available to assist Members with activities at The Landings Club, whether regarding tennis lessons, leagues, tournaments or general club activity.
- The Tennis Professional will promote The Landings Club through the community; actively seeking methods to promote the Club and amenities to the community. This may include donation of time and expertise for the benefit of the Club and community.
- The Tennis Professional will be available to assist in necessary court maintenance when needed. Maintaining a sense of accountability in maintaining The Landings Club facility in the best condition possible for our Members and their guests.
- The Tennis Professional shall teach and promote the lesson programs at The Landings Club in a professional manner. Incorporating innovative junior and adult development programs. The Tennis Professional will not teach any lessons outside of The Landings Club or contract anyone to teach lessons without approval of the Director of Tennis. The Tennis Professional is required to be 15 minutes early for lessons and clinics.
- The Tennis Professional must provide a written lesson plan for adult and junior programs. The Director of Tennis will be of assistance in the structure and formation of such plans. Organization, execution, and follow-up of these plans will ensure member satisfaction.
- The Tennis Professional is responsible for reconciling their daily billing at the end of each day. A roster of participants should be kept for each class in order to keep accurate attendance for billing purposes.
- The Tennis Professional is responsible for securing courts for their lessons and special events. Professional will be required to maintain his/her lesson books and notify the Director of Tennis when not on property.
- The Tennis Professional will be available to accept specific duties as assigned by the Director of Tennis.
Specific Duties:
- Assist with pro shop desk coverage

Skills:
- Tennis Professional is preferred to have at least two years experience in teaching, administration of tournaments, special events and court maintenance procedures.
- Demonstrated success developing and sustaining a strong junior program
- Connectivity with youth and parents. Someone parents comfortably place children in their care and someone of strong moral character and exemplary conduct.
- Must be a member of the USPTA, PTR and USTA.
- Must be able to reflect the personality, goals and objectives of the Director of Tennis and The Tennis Committee.
- Must be capable of interpreting the rules of tennis and have strong communication skills.
- Must be able to demonstrate solid playing skills.
- Must be experienced in the entire service operation to include pro-shop, court maintenance and intra/inter club league, and USTA administration.
- This individual should require little supervision, be detail oriented and should possess a bias for action.
- Must possess a high level of honesty and punctuality.
- Must be knowledgeable of product features and consumer benefits.

Tennis Pro Shop Attendant
The pro shop staff will provide assistance to the membership and guests with all aspects relating to pro shop operations. The concierge will provide excellent customer service, be familiar with merchandise offered, be proficient in the knowledge of the Chelsea System and assist in computer data entry.
Bartender and Banquet Bartender
Will be responsible for the maintenance, cleanliness, and overall organization of the bar. They will be able to function in a clubhouse setting while maintaining a comfortable and professional atmosphere. Will provide support to all positions within the department, to include food servers, hosts, service assistants, and managers. They will take drink orders from members or servers, while preparing beverages in accordance with standard recipes. May also wash and sterilize glassware, prepare garnishes for drinks, as well as take food orders from members sitting at the bar. Must be a minimum of twenty one (21) years of age. A minimum of a high school diploma, a General Equivalency degree (GED) or their equivalent is required. Must successfully complete a food safety program (ServSafe) upon being hired.
Cook I
The Cook I will be responsible of ensuring that proper preparation techniques are performed using appropriate materials in accordance with established guidelines and procedures. Inspect equipment before and after use, making sure of cleanliness and proper working order. Maintain cleanliness of workstation, kitchen area and walk in cooler and freezer. Prepare orders according to standard recipes in proper, professional, and timely manner. Must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age. A minimum of one year experience in food production is preferred. A high school diploma or a General Education Development Certificate (GED) or its equivalent is preferred. Must successfully complete a food safety awareness class (ServSafe) within 30 days of being hired.
Server
The Food Server will be responsible for the maintenance, cleanliness, and overall organization of the dining room. The Food Server will be able to function in a clubhouse setting while maintaining a comfortable and professional atmosphere. The Food Server will provide support to all positions within the department, to include other food servers, hosts, bartenders, and managers. A minimum of a high school diploma, a General Equivalency degree (GED) or their equivalent is required. A minimum of one (1) year of previous experience as a food server is highly preferred. Must be able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required. Must successfully complete a food safety program (ServSafe) within 30 days of being hired.
